We love TANZANIA – and you? better together
Lion Guides Safaris are deliberately a small family business, which was launched by a Tanzanian native named Lukiano and his wife Dorit. All our tours are conducted by Lukiano himself and not by other tour guides. This is particularly important to us as Lukiano’s attentive approach to all of his guests is always greatly appreciated by his tour participants, whether it’s safari tours or climbing Kilimanjaro. He motivates, gives assistance and, if necessary, also his shoulders when it comes to the summit of Kilimanjaro. On a safari, he doesn’t give up looking for animals when other guides have long since given up.
We are always connected to nature through our tours and know that we are also a part of this nature. It is therefore important to us in all areas, as far as it is possible for us to offer a nature and environment-friendly trip. For example, it is part of our offer, that the food is freshly prepared daily from local fruit and vegetables and transported to so-called hotpots for lunch or that there is always an additional porter with us when climbing Kilimanjaro, who is responsible for the picking up rubbish along the way.
We wish for our guests a wonderful time and unforgettable moments during the tours.
Lukiano Barnabas Mkuta
Lukiano Barnabas, who grew up as a ModernMasai of the Mkuta clan, knows the traditional life of the Masai in the countryside as well as the challenges of city life for the Masai from his own experience. As a child he tended the family’s cattle and goats, was accepted into the ranks of warriors after the important ritual of the “circumcision” and now lives with his family in Arusha. His love for nature made him a professional tour guide for safaris as well as a mountain guide for Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. He has been a tour guide for 12 years now and he likes to show his wealth of experience when tracking wild animals on safari, tells exciting stories about the Masai during Masai tours and reports on the first ascent of the beautiful Kilimanjaro as well as the flora and fauna of the mountain, as much as you want to know.
