6 Days Beer & Safari

The beer safari is intended for guests who just want to enjoy the wildlife and drive from one place to the next in a relaxed manner while drinking a beer or two. There will be a variety of Tanzanian beers to try out. Beer is a large part of the Tanzanian economy and is largely dominated by Tanzania Breweries Limited and Serengeti Breweries Limited. The Twiga Brewery, Tanzania’s first craft brewery, was established in Arusha in 2015. There are well-sounding brands such as Kilimanjaro Premium Lager, Serengeti the Kick, Uhuru Peak Lager, King Oryx Lager and Twiga Ale.

Day 1 – Arrived in Arusha

– Visiting Twiga Brewery and Pub (Monday closed – AIM Shopping Mall, Majengo)

Day 2 – Tarangire National park

The Tarangire National Park is particularly worth seeing in the dry season, as the Tarangire River, which is always full, attracts animals from the neighbouring regions in droves. In addition to the large herds of elephants, impala and kudu, can also lions, hyenas and cheetahs are observed here. Not to be neglected are the more than 545 bird species, that make every ornithologist’s heart beat faster.

Day 3 – Lake Manyara National park

Lake Manyara National Park lies between Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley. It covers an area of 325 km2, of which around 230 km2 are lakes. In the rainy season, the lake can reach a depth of 3.0 m, covering two-thirds of the park. Lake Manyara National Park is known for flocks of thousands of flamingos that feed at the lake’s edge during the rainy season, the great white pelican and approximately 1,000,000 to 2,500,000 individual waterfowl. The aquifer forest north of the lake is a known breeding ground for thousands of Pink-backed pelicans, yellow-billed storks, and smaller numbers of marabou storks and gray herons. A special feature of the national park is the tree-climbing lions.

Day 4 – Ngorongoro National park

The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest continuous caldera in the world. The attractive landscape of the crater and the impressive concentration of wild animals such as elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo and huge herds of wildebeest and zebra that migrate across the steppes every year during their migration is fantastic. With a bit of luck, you can even see the endangered black rhino. In 1959, the area was established for multiple land use, where wild animals and semi-nomadic Maasai herders coexist.

Day 5 – Serengeti National park

The Serengeti is a savanna in northern Tanzania, of which the southern part and the Ngorongoro Highlands were established as a national park in 1951. The word Serengeti itself is derived from the Maasai term “esirinket” meaning endless land. During the great migration of ungulates, 1.3 to 1.7 million wildebeest, 200.000 zebra and around 500.000 Thomsen and Grant’s gazelle migrate across this endless land. They are accompanied by around 7500 hyenas, 4000 lions and 500 to 600 cheetahs. A magnificent sight. Anyone who has not yet seen all the animals of the “Big Five” (elephant, rhino, Cape buffalo, lion and leopard) has a particularly good chance here.

After the Game Drive, you will head to Arusha for the night.

Day 6 – Arusha City tour

Named after a local Maasai clan, Arusha is the third-largest city in Tanzania. The city gained notoriety through the 1962 movie “Hatari” starring Hardy Krüger and John Wayne. Today Arusha is the center of Tanzanian tourism. On the walk through Arusha’s city centre we will show you, among other things, the clock tower, the Maasai Market and the lively weekly market and will end our 6-day tour together.
